Third time is a charm

And she is ours!

Donor: approved.

Are you ready for this?  She is available immediately.

I might be a Cycle Sista as early as November, or December at the latest.  My expectations had been set for January.  Funny how just a couple months can seem like eons.

Guess who ate a birth control pill last night?  This Old Momma!

Holy shirt.  Here we go.

  16. Roccie, just a follow up comment from a comment you left me on my blog. Abnormal embryos are created by nature all the time - regardless if it was a donor egg or donor sperm that created the embryo. That was the reason we wanted to do the CCRM's CCS testing. So it would "weed" out the naturally made "abnormal" embryos. Abnormal embryos generally do not implant or do implant and then miscarry. I was anticipating about 10 - 15% abnormal embryos from my DE embryo "batch" but in the end I ended up with 25%. I based my 10-15% estimate because 15% of all pregnancies generally miscarry (IVF or natural). Who knows...nature is mysterious and next time with the same donor's egg and DH's sperm could have resulted in less than 10%. So every cycle would be different. Hope that helps. And why e-SET? well their twin rate is very high and I am just nervous about twins. By transferring one CCS tested embryo, it only lowers the success rate by approx 10%. CCRM's CCS tested double "normal" embryo transfers are resulting in nearly 80% live birth rate with a twin rate of nearly 50%. My OB states twins ramps up the birth defect/complications RISKS 4-6 x higher. Again everything is a risk and I'm all about sacrificing success if it means lowering risk. But easier said than done when you really want to get pg and not have to shell out more $$ to do another transfer. But just not sure what we'll do. Thanks for the questions.
