Longest couple days I ever had in a long time.
We are 6 and 1/2 weeks pregnant, measuring accurately to a made-up last menstrual date, with a normal heart rate.
I am beyond grateful.
Really don't understand how we ended up here. Rocco has half dead, crap sperm that swims sideways, while I enjoy diminished ovarian reserve. Even on $5000 worth of stims, I could not generate more than one egg.
It doesn't seem real to me yet.
Your ever loving urban legend,
Roccie
I think it's me. All the infertiles I follow end up getting pregnant on their own usually after they've adopted or done IVF.
ReplyDeleteJokes aside, thank you for updating so quickly. I was thinking about you all day. I just might be holding my breath for the next 8+ months.
That is just awesome! Beautiful and awesome!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Simply, purely amazing.
ReplyDeleteCongrats again.
You know most fertile people only get pregnant with one egg, right?
ReplyDeleteBut yeah I too know many women who do IVF and even fail IVF who get spontaneously pregnant, both in the blogosphere and in real life.
This is good, Roccie. This is good. Breathe.
Congrats!
One of the girls I met through my first clinic messaged a group of us recently to tell us she was pregnant by accident. She and her husband had been trying for years with absolutely no luck. His sperm was barely there and heading the wrong way. They had a singleton and then twins through ICSI. The first message told us that after 11 years of unprotected s*x, one swimmer had finally got through. The message after the 12 week scan was "It's twins. Again.". As you head for menopause, your body starts chucking out the remaining eggs (in desperation?) and it's surprisingly common to have an "oops!" pregnancy in your early 40s and you also have a greater chance of twins past forty. So happy the scan looks good - here's to another 7.5 months of normal! Can I say congratulations without a question mark now?
ReplyDeleteI am beyond excited for you!!!
ReplyDeleteBeen checking in all day waiting for an update....so happy for you Roccie, so so happy. I am one of "them" too...4 fresh/frozen cycles...2 kids, 1 failed cycle and 1 loss. 3 spontaneous pregnancies 2-3 years later with 1 loss, 1 toddler and 1 more on the way. Unbelievable most days as our issue was 3 percent morphology and almost 100 percent ASA's.
ReplyDeleteWhen is your next appt?
Kel

Yes, apparently you have become one of "them." You're the second urban legend I know.
ReplyDeleteIt just goes to show you that just when you think you have things sorted out, the universe laughs and throws you a curve ball. But lucky you for such an amazing curve ball.
A heartfelt and excited welcome to the club!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear everything was normal and looking good. Can we say congratulations now? :)
