"Just try to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy"

All is well.  I would be lying if I told you I slept well last night.  No nightmares, but I wound myself up by the time I was on the table.

Thanks for the champ advice, Nurse Ratched.  Anyone can TAKE the reservation, it is KEEPING the reservation that is the hard part.

We will have a follow up appointment in 6 weeks as I just might have placenta previa.  The doctor believes it will correct itself.  He told me the only risk was a requirement to have a c section, but Dr. Google is freaking me the fuck out with preterm labor.

I hope you think this picture is funny.

I hope I am not turning into that asshat we all hate on FB by posting this.

  1. How many weeks are you? My Dr told me that almost ALL pregnancies start out as placenta previa and MOST resolve themselves. I think mine resolved around 20 weeks.

  2. I love that photo. I remember watching my son yawn during his ultrasound. It always made me laugh.

I guess you guys were boring your little one with all the medical talk. : )

Stay away from doctor google. Half the time he doesn't know what he's talking about.

    I wish you the best.

  3. Dr. Google is an asshole. I think he's in bed with your nurse Ratched.

Great pic, and glad everything allowed you to exhale today.

  5. that is adorable. One of my very good friends had placenta previa (DE baby too oddly enough), she went into labor 4 wks early, had a C, and every thing was all good). I think she did have restrictions on sex and exercise though. Much luck to you.

  6. yeah, um, that picture looks like a five year old drew it. Those full frontal skeletal pics are so odd to look at. I had one for my nuchal, and I was like "huh?" this is my baby?" At that stage, the eyes were still a bit farther from each other, too.

  7. I had a bit of previa too from weeks 16 to 22...all corrected itself but still I was a nutjob about it all too (not to say that you are a nutjob right now but GET OFF DR. GOOGLE!!!). Anyway, easier said than done I know. Hang in there...you are half wasy done this insanity ride called pregnancy.

  10. Stop googling, hon. I had the previa. A bad one. Cervix completely covered. I read all the horror. I ended up with a c/s but not because of the previa, which by 28 weeks had lifted. Keep the faith on that one.

It is interesting to me, though, that you too had early pregnancy bleeding and now the previa, as did I. I just wonder if there's something that goes on with these IVF placentas.... Anyway my wager is on a normal positioned placenta by your follow-up scan....

That picture? Is priceless. Naturally, s/he would have a sense of humor.

  11. Previa occurs more frequently if you had a prior c-section (I think you did?) but, yeah, often corrects as the uterus grows. Stay away from google, I tell you!!!

And yeah that picture is hilarious.

  12. Roccie, I'm so glad all is well in there. That's a mighty cute baby you're gestating. And NO, you could never be that asshat on FB even if you tried as hard as you possibly could. You are just too awesome.

  14. Go roccie! Your baby is stunning already. My cousin had pp and delivered her beautiful bubba early by c section. She just wasn't allowed to travel far from her hospital. One shiny new healthy bubba coming up. Btw who is the asshat on fb we all hate? Hope to god it isn't me! Probably is.

  17. I swear to goodness that the baby is WINKING:) That is a great picture. And I'm thinking good, strong thoughts that the placenta previa is just a phantom on the horizon. One that will never actually materialize.

(I never ever sleep well before an appointment. NEVER:(

  18. Easy for her to say. Pff.

  20. Awwwww! Hi, baby!

I hope the placenta previa goes away, but until it does? More ultrasounds! And how could that possibly be a bad thing?

  21. Wooo Hooo! Your baby has a face! I'm so happy this scan went well, and don't let Dr. Google scare you. By which I mean no Dr. Google!

  23. Agreed. You need to block Google in your browser settings. It does no good. It hardly ever actually helps - just leaves you swimming in mucky grey. So glad to see the little "it." I never was the asshole on FB who posted an US pic. but I really really wanted to. Now I just post pictures of the baby!!
